Dry Ports & Border Terminals
The Dry Ports managed by NLC are known for their client friendly facilities, state of the art infrastructure with least administrative encumbrances in accordance with Government policies, rules and regulations. The businessmen and traders are afforded facilities like easy customs clearance, comprehensive handling services, safe & accessible warehousing and inland movement of goods to any location within Pakistan. The Dry Ports and Border Terminals are adequately equipped with latest scaner, weight bridges, cranes, reach stackers, top lifters, fork lifters, tender fire crash, generators and machanical brooms ets.
Development of a network of Border Terminals is imperative to materialize the objective of promoting inter regional and intra regional trade & business. To achieve this end, NLC has set up Border Terminals at Wagha, Jamrud and Chaman. These Terminals are playing crucial role in boosting trade with neighbouring India and Afghanistan. The Government has assigned NLC with the task to further modernize and build terminals at Chaman and Torkham as part of the approved Master Plan of Asian Development Bank under Integrated Transit Trade Management System (ITTMS) project. Construction of Torkham Border Terminal is part the Phase 1 of the interim plan that became fully functional in May 2015. Similar terminals are being established at Sust and Taftan border points to facilitate import / export business with China and Iran respectively. After the establishment of Land Port Authority (LPA), all Dry Ports & Border Terminals will be governed and operated under the supervision of LPA. .
